There are other short term car insurances available for 28 days of time also known as comprehensive covers, which covers car breakdowns but do not have an effect on the primary policy. Apart from this, one can also take up short term car insurance when the original car insurance policy has lapsed and there will be a period in which the new insurance policy will take time to be completely active. Short term car insurance is beneficial when one is renting a car or borrowing a car for a trip as it is easy to add up a new driver for the car. Most of the cars that are modified, classic cars or campers take short term car insurance, which can also cover more accessories of the car. There are limitations to the short term insurance policy, for example it might not cover up for expenses incurred due to repair, which is covered by long term insurance. Usually these insurance policies are a little expensive but worth it as one can become a legal driver for the car for a short term only and not have a long term commitment.
